Houston police said the woman was hit at 2500 South State Highway 6 at about 10:05 a.m. on December 30, 2024.

Houston, TX – A 74-year-old woman who was critically injured in a pedestrian accident on State Highway 6 in Houston late last month is dead, according to the Houston Police Department.
Houston police said the woman was hit at 2500 South State Highway 6 at about 10:05 a.m. on December 30, 2024.
Police said the woman was walking eastbound on South State Highway 6 and crossing the street – not in a crosswalk -when she was hit by a white Kia Sorento traveling northbound.
The driver of the Kia – a 32-year-old man – remained at the scene after the collision. He was determined not to be intoxicated and was questioned and released.
Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the critically injured woman to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center where she remained hospitalized until the doctors pronounced her dead on Friday, January 3, 2025.
The incident remains under investigation.
