University Park, TX. – A woman was killed and a man critically hurt in a traffic collision in the University Park area on Friday evening, according to the authorities.
The collision happened on Preston Road and Lovers Lane at about 6:36 p.m. on November 22.
Authorities said a Chevy Silverado was heading east on Lovers Lane at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to stop for a red light and collided with a car traveling north on Preston Road.
The impact pushed one of the vehicles into three other vehicles that were stopped facing west on Lovers Lane.
A woman riding in the first vehicle hit was pronounced deceased at the scene. A man in that vehicle was taken to Presbyterian Hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the Chevy reportedly fled from the scene but was located shortly after and was arrested. Police are investigating the accident.
