Grayson County, TX – The wife of a Grayson County police sergeant has died after she was involved in a collision with a suspected drunk driver earlier this month in Grayson County, according to the authorities.
The collision happened on October 2 on US 69.
Authorities said the sergeant’s family vehicle was rear-ended while trying to make a turn on the highway.
The sergeant’s wife, Xochitl Monsivais, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
The driver who rear-ended the vehicle, David Brokaw, was arrested for intoxicated assault and was booked in the Collin County Jail.
No other details were provided.
The authorities are investigating the collision.

The accident happened on October 2 on US-69 near Snow Road.
DPS said the sergeant’s family was driving on the highway after a soccer game when their vehicle was rear-ended while trying to turn left.
Two people in the car were taken to Texoma Medical Center. Three children were airlifted to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
The sergeant’s wife was listed in critical condition and was put on life support with a brain injury, and their baby was in intensive care.
The driver who rear-ended them was arrested for intoxicated assault.
