Arlington, TX – A 19-year-old man was fatally hit by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Arlington, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened around 3:50 a.m., June 28, on Interstate 30 near Baird Farm Road.
Police said Angel Alonso crashed into an abandoned vehicle on the shoulder of the freeway. He then got out of his vehicle and tried to use his cell phone light to direct traffic around the accident scene. Brittani Watkins, 33, was driving a 2014 Lexus when she crashed into Alonso and his vehicle in the main lanes of the freeway.
Alonso was pronounced dead at the scene.
Watkins and her male passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment. Watkins was then arrested and is facing a DWI charge.
The police are investigating the accident.
