The deadly accident happened just before 6:00 a.m. on August 3 at the intersection of State Highway 115 and County Road 302.

Winkler County, TX – One person was killed and two others were injured early Sunday morning in a three-vehicle accident in Winkler County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The deadly accident happened just before 6:00 a.m. on August 3 at the intersection of State Highway 115 and County Road 302.
DPS said Teodricke Alexander Lamar Miller,24, of Marlin, Texas, was driving a 2019 GMC Acadia northbound on SH 115 when he began to slow down to make a left turn onto CR 302. Raheem Griffin, 26, of Marlin, was driving a 2015 Ford F-350 behind Miller’s vehicle when he failed to control his speed and rear-ended the Acadia. The force of the impact pushed the Acadia into the eastbound barrow ditch, where it caught fire.
The Ford became disabled in the southbound lane of SH 115 and was struck by a southbound 2015 Freightliner Cascadia, which was towing a trailer. The collision caused the Freightliner to roll over.
The Freightliner driver, 48-year-old Areal Casanas, a professional truck driver from Lehigh Acres, Florida, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Griffin was taken to Winkler County Memorial Hospital in serious condition. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Miller was taken to Winkler County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
