San Antonio, TX – A Bexar County constable was injured in a collision with a big rig in San Antonio on Wednesday morning, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened on Interstate 35 near O’Connor Road at around 3 a.m.

Authorities reported that an off-duty Bexar County constable was parked along southbound I-35 with the emergency lights activated when his vehicle was struck by an Amazon 18-wheeler.

The constable was transported to a hospital with critical injuries.

The southbound lanes of I-35 were shut down as authorities investigated the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
