The fatal collision happened around 3:57 a.m. on August 15 on U.S. Highway 84 about 6/10 of a mile northwest of County Road 3100.

Lubbock County, TX – The man who was killed in a wrong-way collision that also left two other people injured Friday morning in Lubbock County has been identified as Brian King, 51, of Colorado Springs, according to the authorities.
The fatal collision happened around 3:57 a.m. on August 15 on U.S. Highway 84 about 6/10 of a mile northwest of County Road 3100.
DPS said King was driving a 2025 Nissan Altima northwest in the inside left lane of eastbound US 84 when he collided with a 2023 Ford F250 that was towing a trailer southeast in the inside left eastbound lane.
King was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock, where he died on Saturday, August 16.
The driver of the Ford, a 28-year-old man from Navasota, Texas, and his 26-year-old female passenger from Navasota, were taken to UMC with moderate injuries.
All three people were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
