Batesville, TX – One person was killed in a wrong-way collision near Batesville on Wednesday morning, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The incident took place on U.S. 57 at about 5:30 a.m. January 22.
According to the report, Carmen Ruiz, 50, was driving a Dodge Caravan east on westbound U.S. 57 when the Dodge collided with a Peterbilt.
Ruiz was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The two occupants of the Peterbilt were not injured
An investigation into the deadly collision is ongoing.
