The man was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to UMC for treatment

Lubbock, TX. – 48-year-old Derek Wischemeyer has been identified as the man who was injured in a collision involving a dirt bike on Sunday night in Lubbock.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, the accident happened around 9:52 p.m. at 108th Drive and University Avenue.
Wischemeyer was riding a dirt bike south on University Avenue when he was struck by a passenger car that was turning north on University Avenue.
The man was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to UMC for treatment.
The driver of the car, 49-year-old Laquita Duncan, was taken to UMC with minor injuries
Additional information about the accident was not provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
