Austin, TX – A motorcyclist was killed Thursday night in a traffic collision in southeast Austin, according to the police.
The deadly accident took place around 9:19 p.m., June 12, in the 1700 block of South Pleasant Valley Road, near East Riverside Drive.
Police said Eliasib Cortes Vargas, 34, was riding a motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with an SUV.
Vargas was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The SUV driver, Thomas Ajanel Chan, 54, was arrested for DWI and booked into the Travis County Jail. Additional charges against him were pending.
