Corpus Christi, TX. – 73-year-old Gilberto Villarreal has been identified by the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office as the pedestrian who died after being struck by a car on Saturday night in Corpus Christi.
According to the police, the accident happened around 8:36 p.m. in the 5700 block of Weber Road near H-E-B on Holly Road.
The man was crossing the street and was struck by an SUV traveling northbound in the right lane of Weber Road.
Villarreal was taken to hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and had no indications of intoxication.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
