Beaumont, TX – A 19-year-old was killed early Sunday morning in a head-on collision in Beaumont, according to a local news source.
The fatal collision happened on September 14 on Washington Boulevard near Fifth Street.
According to the report, 47-year-old Lajanara Stevenson was driving in the wrong lane when his vehicle crashed head-on into another vehicle driven by Jasmine Batiste, who was driving to pick up her 3-year-old son.
Batiste was killed in the accident. She was the great-niece of former Beaumont Mayor Robin Mouton.
Stevenson was charged with intoxication manslaughter.
No additional information regarding the accident was available.
The collision remains under investigation.
