Lubbock, TX. – Two people were killed in a car accident on Saturday morning in Lubbock County.
The deadly collision happened around 7:30 a.m. on U.S. 84 North Frontage Road near Mimosa Avenue.
64-year-old Jinmei Gao, of Flushing, New York, was driving a 2025 Mercedes-Benz northwest on U.S. 84 when he exited on the North Frontage Road.
The man failed to negotiate a curve on the highway and collided with a stationary railroad car on the track.
The vehicle caught fire after the collision.
Gao and his passenger, 18-year-old Jia Jin Wu, of Lubbock, both died at the scene.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
