Houston, TX – According to the police, Jose Manuel Villegas Umanzor, 20, was arrested and charged in connection to the DWI accident that left one person dead on Saturday in Houston.

The fatal accident happened around 11:20 p.m., June 14, in the 10500 block of Bauman Road.

Police said a gray Infiniti G37 was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a northbound green Chevrolet Lumina.

The impact pushed the Chevrolet into a ditch on the side of the roadway while the Infiniti slammed into a parked vehicle.

The Chevrolet driver, a 66-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not been released.

The Infiniti driver, Villegas Umanzor, and a passenger, a 65-year-old man, were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Villegas Umanzor was determined to be impaired and was subsequently arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The police are investigating the accident.
