Austin, TX – The pedestrian who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Riverside Drive on Sunday has been identified as 47-year-old Juan Melesio.

The accident happened at about 6:49 a.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Tinnin Ford Road, according to the Austin Police Department (APD).

APD Officers responded to reports of an auto-pedestrian collision in the 2000 block of E Riverside Dr.

The pedestrian later identified as Juan Melesio, was pronounced deceased on scene.

According to APD, the driver of the vehicle, identified as 30-year-old Ali-Mbemba Kembilu was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI).

The incident remains under investigation.

Austin, TX – A pedestrian is dead following an auto-pedestrian accident at an intersection in Austin Sunday morning, according to ATCEMS.

The accident happened at about 7:10 a.m. at East Riverside Drive and Tinnin Ford Road.

According to ATCEMS, an adult pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
