Amarillo, TX – A  19-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Landon McGinnis, was killed Monday evening after being struck by a pickup truck near an intersection in Amarillo, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

The deadly accident happened at about 6 p.m. on November 4 near the intersection of Interstate 40 and Bell Street.

According to Amarillo PD, a 2003 Dodge pickup truck and a black 2009 Kawasaki sport motorcycle were involved in the collision.

Amarillo PD reported that Mcginnis was riding the motorcycle southbound on Bell Street crossing the south frontage road on I-40. The pickup was traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 south frontage road crossing Bell Street and struck the motorcycle.

McGinnis sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup was not hurt.

The incident remains under investigation.
