El Paso, Texas – A man in his 20s was killed Tuesday afternoon in a pedestrian accident in Central El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department.

The deadly accident happened on June 18, on Interstate 10 near the underpass at Reynolds.

Police said the man was trying to cross the interstate and was escaping from a police traffic stop when he was struck by a car.

The man was killed in the crash. His name has not been released.

The driver who hit the pedestrian remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The crash closed all lanes of I-10 West at Reynolds. All lanes were reopened around 8:00 p.m.

The police are investigating the crash.
