Corpus Christi, TX – Two people were killed early Sunday morning in a car accident in Corpus Christi, according to the police.
The fatal accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on September 14 on Weber Road near Holly.
Police said a car failed to yield while making a left turn, resulting in a collision. Three people were ejected and several others were injured in the accident.
Rene Govea, 45, who was driving the other vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Melinda Garcia, 50, who was a passenger in the other vehicle, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
The driver at fault is facing intoxication manslaughter and assault charges.
The police are investigating the accident.
