King County, TX – The person who was killed Wednesday morning in a head-on collision in King County has been identified as Michael Bryant, 18, of Lubbock, according to the authorities.
The fatal collision happened around 8:21 a.m. on January 28 on U.S. 82 just east of CR 274.
DPS said Bryant was driving a 2019 Honda SUV westbound when he entered a curve on the highway. An eastbound Chevrolet pickup also entered the same curve. Bryant drove straight through the curve, entered the eastbound lane, and crashed head-on with the Chevrolet.
Bryant died at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The Chevrolet driver, 40-year-old Zane Daniel of Guthrie, was taken to Knox County Hospital with minor injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
