Callahan County, TX – A 44-year-old Abilene man was in a car collision in Clyde Thursday night, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

The deadly collision occurred at around 10 p.m. on May 8 on FM 18, about two miles west of FM 603.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said Michael Adrian Lopez, 44, of Abilene was driving a Jeep Cherokee SUV westbound on FM 18. At the same time, 19-year-old Jason Riley Miller was driving a pickup truck going east on FM 18.

Officials said, for reasons still under investigation, Miller drove on the wrong side of the road and collided head-on with Lopez’s Jeep.

Lopez sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miller was hospitalized with minor injuries.

No additional details regarding the collision were provided.

The accident remains under investigation.
