Killeen, TX – Several people were injured Saturday morning in a multi-vehicle collision in Killeen, according to a local news source.
The collision was reported around 2:26 a.m. on January 31 on Interstate 14.
According to the report, a red Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound on the interstate at a high rate of speed when it struck a gray GMC SUV during a lane change, before hitting a black Mercedes-Benz SUV.
The Charger and Mercedes rolled down an embankment after the collision, while the GMC spun off the road. The vehicles came to a rest on Central Texas Expressway.
The driver of the Mercedes fled on foot, but officers caught him. He was in possession of a stolen handgun and narcotics. He also had an active arrest warrant.
A woman in the Mercedes was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The passengers in the Dodge had to be extricated. The driver was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries. A passenger was taken by ground ambulance to the hospital with serious injuries.
The occupants of the GMC were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
No other details were provided.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
