The accident happened around midnight on September 23 at the intersection of Hillcroft Avenue and Westheimer Road.

Houston, TX – An HPD officer was injured on Tuesday in a two-vehicle accident in Houston, according to the police.
The accident happened around midnight on September 23 at the intersection of Hillcroft Avenue and Westheimer Road.
Police said an HPD patrol vehicle was traveling northbound on Hillcroft and went through a green light. A Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Westheimer when it ran a red light and hit the back of the patrol vehicle.
The officer in the patrol vehicle was taken to the hospital as a precaution after complaining of a headache.
The Ford driver and his passenger were uninjured in the accident.
The Ford driver admitted to running the red light and would be cited. He did not show signs of intoxication.
The police are investigating the accident.
