Amarillo, TX – One person was killed and another was injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle collision in downtown Amarillo, according to the police.
The fatal accident occurred around 6:40 a.m., June 25, at the intersection of SE 10th and Pierce.
Police said Orelvis Perez Rodriguez, 54, ran a red light at the intersection and slammed into a Dodge Ram.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup truck driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police said speed was a factor in the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.
