Orange Grove, TX – One person was killed and another was injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in Orange Grove, according to the authorities.
The fatal collision took place around 4:15 p.m. on August 21 on FM 738.
Authorities said 71-year-old Ramon Reyes Estrada was driving a 1998 Chevrolet truck southbound on the highway when he attempted to pass a vehicle that was making a right turn. A 2002 Ford F-150 driven by 66-year-old Humberto Ramon was traveling in the opposite direction.
Estrada took evasive actions, but the Ford hit the Chevrolet’s passenger side.
Estrada was taken to Christus Spohn in Alice, where he was pronounced dead.
Ramon was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The authorities are investigating the accident.
