1 Hospitalized after Dallas Car Crash on I-45 near Overton Road
Dallas, TX. - A prisoner was hospitalized after being injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a police cruiser on Monday morning in Dallas.
According to the Dallas Police Department, the accident occurred on I-45 near Overton Road.
An 18-wheeler was approaching the scene of an initial three-vehicle crash and slowed down. A Dallas police vehicle with two officers and a prisoner on board, and another vehicle, were unable to avoid a collision.
The impact of the collision caused the police SUV to crash into a guardrail before being struck by a box truck.
The prisoner was transported to the local hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
The two officers in the SUV were not injured.
Further details concerning the collision were not provided by the law enforcement.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
