1 Killed in Alvarado Crash on I-35W near Mile Marker 27

Alvarado, TX. - A driver was killed in a car crash on Thursday morning in Alvarado.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred on Interstate 35 near mile marker 27 at around 4:30 a.m.

A sedan was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed when it struck the back of a cement truck.

The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver later succumbed to their injuries.

The driver of the cement truck remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

More details on the crash were not provided.

The Alvarado Police Department is investigating the collision.
