1 Killed in Archer County Crash at U.S. Highway 281 and FM 1954

Archer County, TX. – A 79-year-old woman was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on Monday evening in Archer County.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened at the intersection of U.S. Highway 281 and FM 1954 at around 6:35 p.m.

A 2024 Chevrolet Trax SUV was traveling westbound on FM 1954 when it entered the intersection and pulled out in front of a northbound truck tractor towing a semi-trailer, leading to a collision.

The Trax and truck tractor entered a ditch, while the trailer truck swung to the right and was hit by a Honda CRV and a Chevrolet Equinox.

The driver of Trax was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck tractor was taken to United Regional with serious injuries. The driver of the Honda CRV was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Equinox refused medical treatment.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
