Austin, TX. - A man died after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday morning in Austin.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened at the intersection of Montopolis Drive and Bastrop Highway at around 5:16 a.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A man was struck by a vehicle in unclear circumstances.

Emergency responders administered life-saving measures to the pedestrian before he was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The identity of the man was not immediately disclosed.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

The Austin Police Department is investigating the accident.
