1 Killed in Harlingen Bicycle Accident on North McColl Road

Harlingen, TX. - A 43-year-old bicyclist was killed in an accident on Friday morning in Harlingen.

According to the Edinburg Police Department, the accident occurred in the 2000 block of North McColl Road at around 1 a.m.

A vehicle was traveling southbound on McColl Road when it struck a bicyclist from behind in the center turning lane and fled the scene.

The 43-year-old bicyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The suspect vehicle, a 2014 Dodge Crown that had four juveniles onboard, was identified after their parents reported the crash to the police.

The four 16-year-old juveniles were questioned by the Edinburg Police Department.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
