2 Injured in Lubbock Pedestrian Accident on I-27 near Preston Smith Airport
Lubbock, TX. - An officer and a pedestrian were injured in an accident on Saturday morning in Lubbock.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, the accident happened in the 7000 block of North Interstate 27 at the southbound access road at around 5:01 a.m.
A pedestrian was walking along the access road when he was struck by a patrol vehicle responding to a report of a possibly intoxicated man bothering employees in the area.
The man struck was the same person the officers were dispatched to check.
The man was taken to UMC with serious injuries.
The officer sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
