3 Injured in Beaumont Crash at College St. and I-10
Beaumont, TX. - Three people, including a child, were injured in a head-on collision on Saturday morning in Beaumont.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened in the 4000 block of College Street at Interstate 10 at around 3:11 a.m.
A 46-year-old woman was driving a white Buick eastbound on College Street when she stopped at the green light signal.
The woman then accelerated from the intersection at a high rate of speed, crossed the concrete median, and collided head-on with a Ford Expedition.
The woman was trapped and hydraulic rescue tools were used to rescue her. A child in the Buick was found unresponsive, but responders regained a pulse.
The child was taken to the hospital and later airlifted to another medical facility.
The driver of the Buick, Leosha Livings, 46, was taken to the hospital with her condition deemed critical but stable.
The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
