Fort Worth, TX – Justin Blackburn and Hannah Lucio Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on Texas 121

Fatal Fort Worth Wrong-Way Crash

Fort Worth, TX – Two drivers were killed following a wrong-way head-on collision on Texas 121 in Fort Worth early Sunday morning, according to Fort Worth Police.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on May 31 on Texas 121 near the Sylvania Avenue exit.

Investigators said officers initially responded to reports of a vehicle traveling the wrong way on the highway. Preliminary findings indicate that a Nissan driven by 22-year-old Hannah Lucio was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Texas 121 when it collided head-on with a Toyota Tacoma operated by 48-year-old Justin Blackburn.

Blackburn suffered fatal blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Lucio sustained critical injuries and was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, where she later died on Monday from blunt force injuries. No arrests were reported.

Authorities said the circumstances leading up to the wrong-way driving incident remain under investigation.

Fort Worth police officers responded to the scene shortly after the crash was reported and conducted an extensive on-scene investigation into the fatal collision.

The crash caused traffic disruptions along Texas 121 as authorities investigated the scene and cleared the damaged vehicles from the roadway.
