Jerry Burgess Killed in Lubbock Crash at 98th Street and Quaker Avenue
Lubbock, TX. - 84-year-old Jerry Burgess has been identified as the man who died in a two-vehicle collision on Friday afternoon in Lubbock.
According to the Lubbock Police Department, the crash occurred at the intersection of 98th Street and Quaker Avenue at around 3:30 p.m.
Burgess was driving an SUV westbound on 98th Street and was attempting to turn left onto Quaker Avenue and collided with a pickup truck traveling eastbound on 98th Street.
Burgess was transported to University Medical Center, where he later died.
The driver of the pickup truck, Timothy Meeks, 46, was taken to Covenant Medical Center with moderate injuries.
