Michael Sepulveda and Omar Botello Killed in El Paso Crash on Interstate 10 East near Copia Street

El Paso, TX. – Authorities have identified two men who died in a high-speed crash on Saturday morning in El Paso.

According to the El Paso Police Department, the fatal crash occurred on Interstate 10 East near Copia Street at around 1:42 a.m.

Michael Isaiah Sepulveda, 27, was driving a white 2014 Hyundai Accent eastbound in the left lane at a high rate of speed when he struck the rear of a stopped 2021 Mazda 3 driven by Omar Rene Botello, 31.

Botello was trying to change a tire on the shoulder when he was struck.

Botello was pronounced dead at the scene.

Michael was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police suspect speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.

More details on the accident were not released by law enforcement.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.
