Pickup Driver Dies in Rear-End Crash involving Truck on Kuykendahl Road in Harris County
Harris County, TX – One person was killed after a pickup truck crashed into the rear of a stopped truck on Kuykendahl Road in north Harris County on Friday, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities said the deadly crash happened near a construction site along Kuykendahl Road on Friday, June 26, 2026.
The collision occurred when a pickup truck crashed into the rear of a truck towing a trailer that was stopped in the roadway, waiting to turn into a nearby construction site. Investigators said the truck had its hazard flashers and other warning lights activated at the time.
Authorities said it was not immediately clear why the pickup truck struck the rear of the stopped vehicle, causing severe front-end damage.
The pickup driver became trapped inside the wreckage and was extricated by the emergency crews. The individual was transported to a hospital and was later pronounced dead. The victim’s identity has not been released.
The driver of the truck was not reported to have been injured.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the fatal collision.
