44-Year-Old Woman Dies in Crash on Mobberly Avenue; Suspect Arrested
Longview, TX – A 44-year-old woman was found dead following a crash investigation in Longview early Monday, according to the Longview Police Department.
Authorities identified the victim as Taneka Sheppard, 44.
The incident began at approximately 12:30 a.m. on June 22, 2026, when Longview police officers responded to a report of suspicious activity. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that appeared to have been involved in a crash.
Police said the driver fled when officers attempted to make contact. Following a pursuit, officers apprehended the suspect, identified as Danny Bozarth Jr. of Longview, and arrested him on a charge of evading arrest with a vehicle.
As the investigation continued, officers discovered Sheppard's body near the intersection of Mobberly Avenue and Level Street. Crash investigators later obtained an arrest warrant charging Bozarth with collision involving death, a second-degree felony.
The circumstances leading up to the fatal crash have not been released.
