North Richland Hills, TX – Two women were killed following a collision involving an 18-wheeler and a sedan on Northeast Loop 820 in North Richland Hills Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 12:30 p.m. on June 2, 2026, in the eastbound lanes of Northeast Loop 820 near Holiday Lane.
Authorities said an 18-wheeler and a sedan collided under circumstances that remain under investigation. Emergency crews arrived to find two women trapped inside the sedan.
The North Richland Hills Fire Department extricated both women from the vehicle, but they were pronounced dead at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as 72-year-old Collette Morrissey and 52-year-old Somloudee Roberts. Information regarding injuries to the truck driver was not immediately available. Police said no criminal charges are expected to be filed.
Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene shortly after the collision was reported and remained in the area while accident reconstruction investigators processed evidence.
The crash caused major traffic disruptions along the eastbound expressway, with lanes closed from Iron Horse Boulevard as authorities conducted the investigation and cleared the roadway.
The incident remains under investigation.
