Fisher County, TX – A Roscoe man was fatally hit by a semi-truck Wednesday evening in Fisher County, according to the Texas DPS.
The deadly accident happened at about 8:00 p.m. on February 4 on State Highway 70, 0.43 miles north of milepost 318.
DPS said Leonardo Galindo Ocampo, 25, of Hobbs, New Mexico, was driving a 2010 Freightliner truck tractor towing a semi-trailer southbound when he saw a pedestrian on the roadway. He tried to steer left to avoid a collision but was unable to do so and hit the pedestrian.
The pedestrian, Roy Orozco, 75, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The weather conditions were clear, and the road was dry at the time of the accident.
The troopers are investigating the accident.
