Student injured in school bus accident at U.S. 60 and Farm-to-Market 2590 in Canyon

Canyon, TX. – One student was injured in a collision involving a school bus and an 18-wheeler on Tuesday afternoon in Canyon.
The accident happened in the area of U.S. 60 and Farm-to-Market 2590 at around 3:35 p.m., according to the Canyon police.
A Canyon ISD bus carrying students from Spring Canyon Elementary and Canyon Intermediate School was attempting to turn north onto FM 2590 when it was hit by a semi-truck that ran a red light at the intersection.
One student was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the collision were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
