The fatal collision happened around 12:00 p.m., June 9, on State Highway 158 near County Road 1110.

Midland County, TX – A man was killed on Monday in a two-vehicle accident in Midland County, according to the Texas DPS.
The fatal collision happened around 12:00 p.m., June 9, on State Highway 158 near County Road 1110.
DPS said Cameron C. Cook, 54, of Odessa, was driving a 2024 Ram 2500 westbound in the left lane of the highway. A 2007 Freightliner was also traveling westbound in the left lane and had stopped to make a left turn onto a private drive, ahead of the Ram.
Cook failed to control his speed and rear-ended the Freightliner’s trailer.
Cook was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Freightliner was uninjured in the accident.
The DPS is investigating the accident.
