The accident happened around 1:47 p.m. on August 29 on U.S. Highway 287.

Groveton, TX – Two people were injured on Friday in a two-vehicle accident in Groveton, east of Crockett, according to the Texas DPS.
The accident happened around 1:47 p.m. on August 29 on U.S. Highway 287.
DPS said a 2010 Peterbilt 388 towing a 2020 AOM Trailer and a 2017 GMC Acadia were traveling eastbound on the highway.
The driver of the Peterbilt failed to control his speed and rear-ended the GMC as it was slowing to turn left into a private drive.
The driver of the Peterbilt, 61-year-old Darren Scurlock of Pennington, was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Lufkin with non-life-threatening injuries.
The GMC driver, 64-year-old Donna Trudia of Sulphur, La., was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Lufkin with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Texas DPS is investigating the accident.
