Port Neches, Texas — A man is dead following a fatal industrial accident at a shipyard in Port Neches Saturday morning, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The heavy equipment accident happened at about 8:25 a.m. at the Sterling Shipyard located at 906 Main Street.
The authorities identified the victim only as a 46-year-old Port Neches man. An autopsy has been ordered by Justice of the Peace Ben Collins to determine the cause of the man’s death.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
No additional information is available at this time. The accident remains under investigation.
