Authorities said the tow truck driver, identified as Alfredo Campos, failed to stop as he approached the intersection of Loop 375 and North Desert Road and caused a collision involving about 12 vehicles.

El Paso, TX – The authorities have identified the driver who caused a traffic collision involving 12 vehicles in El Paso killing one person and leaving several others injured in El Paso.

The El Paso police identified the driver as 28-year-old Alfredo Campos.

Police said a white semi-truck and a black trailer became disabled along Loop 375 at about 6 a.m. on May 8.

A tow truck was requested to the scene to remove both trailers from the roadway. For some reason, the tow truck driver, later identified as Campos, failed to stop as he approached the intersection of Loop 375 and North Desert Road and caused a collision involving about 12 vehicles.

A passenger in the yellow tow truck, identified only as a 65-year-old, was killed in the crash. Seven other people – five men and two women – were injured in the crash.

El Paso, TX – At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision involving a semi-truck on Thursday morning in El Paso.

According to the El Paso Fire Department, the accident happened around 6:21 a.m. on North Desert Boulevard at Transmountain Road.

A semi-truck reportedly crashed into several vehicles on the highway. One of the cars reportedly caught fire after the collision.

At least one person was killed in the accident.

At least eight people were injured in the accident and were taken to hospital for treatment.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
