1 Killed, 2 Injured in Head-On Crash on Babcock Road in San Antonio

One Killed and Two Injured in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Babcock Road

San Antonio, Texas (July 31, 2020) – One person was killed, and four others were injured in a fiery head-on collision Thursday afternoon in San Antonio’s Northwest Side, according to police.

The fatal crash happened at about 6:00 p.m., July 30, in the 6800 block of Babcock Road.

Police said a 26-year-old man was driving an SUV when he drove into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on into another SUV, occupied by a 19-year-old woman, a 15-year-old girl, and a 40-year-old woman.

The impact caused the second SUV to burst into flames.

The 19-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 15-year-old girl and the 40-year-old woman were taken to University Hospital in serious condition.

The man was treated at the scene. He could face a murder charge.

The crash closed Babcock Road between Spring Rain and Spring Ridge Drive.

The crash remains under investigation.
