Two teenagers killed in head-on collision on State Highway 6 in Alvin

Alvin, TX. – Two teenagers were killed in a wrong-way collision on Monday evening in Alvin.
According to the Alvin Police Department, the double-fatal collision occurred around 5:23 p.m. on State Highway 6.
A 2021 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling westbound in an eastbound lane and collided head-on with a 2006 Jeep Cherokee.
The driver of the Malibu, 18-year-old Dejon Tate of Missouri City, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Tate’s passenger, 18-year-old Shane Rowely of Fresno, was transported to a local hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The occupants of the Jeep Cherokee were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
