Corpus Christi, TX – Several people were hurt, two seriously, following a collision involving two vehicles in Corpus Christi on Sunday afternoon, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.
The incident was reported at about 12:18 p.m. on April 13, in the 3700 block of Highway 358.
According to police, a car was stalled on the westbound ramp from Weber Road, and two people, a 41-year-old woman and a 20-year-old woman, exited the vehicle. The two women were standing in front of the car when a passenger vehicle, operated by a 28-year-old man, struck the stalled vehicle, causing it to hit the two women.
The women suffered major injuries and were transported to a hospital local. Five children, two juveniles and three young children, a 1-year-old, a 3-year-old, and an infant, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The westbound lanes of the highway were shut down as authorities investigated the accident.
The wreck is under investigation.
