Cheryl Kubiak, Chassity Cowgill and Wyatt Humphrey Killed in Collision on State Highway 90

Grimes-Madison County, TX. – Three people were killed in a head-on collision that left two others injured near Bedias on Friday night.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the accident happened around 11 p.m. on State Highway 90 near the Grimes and Madison County line.
A 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 was northbound when the driver tried passing another vehicle in the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2011 Nissan Altima and a 2006 Hyundai.
The Nissan driver, 42-year-old Cheryl Kubiak, of Plantersville, was killed in the accident.
Two passengers in the Altima, 18-year-old Chassity Cowgill, of Plantersville, and 23-year-old Wyatt Humphrey, of Navasota, were also pronounced dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old passenger of the Altima was taken to CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital in Bryan with serious injuries.
The driver of the Dodge was taken to St. Joseph Health in Madisonville with suspected serious injuries.
The driver of the Hyundai was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
