Texas DPS said the deadly accident occurred at about 7:54 p.m. on September 28, on Highway 19, south of US 80.

Van Zandt County, TX – Two people were killed and three children were injured after two vehicles collided on Highway 19 in Van Zandt County on Saturday.

Texas DPS said the deadly accident occurred at about 7:54 p.m. on September 28, on Highway 19, south of US 80.

As per the DPS, a preliminary investigation showed that a 2014 Ford Focus was traveling northbound on Highway 19 when it turned into the southbound lane, hitting a 2019 Dodge Journey.

Both drivers were pronounced dead.

Three children in the Dodge Journey were injured. Three minors were transported to a children’s hospital in Dallas.

The incident remains under investigation.
