The driver of the Kia was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries

Jasper County, TX. – Two people were killed in a head-on collision that left another person injured on Friday night in Jasper County.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on Highway 96.
The driver of a 2023 Hyundai Elantra was traveling north on Highway 96 when he crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2024 Kia Sportage.
The driver of the Hyundai and a child passenger in the Kia died at the scene.
The driver of the Kia was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
