Two drivers were arrested and charged with racing causing serious bodily injury and intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury

Amarillo, TX. – Five people were injured in a collision caused by two vehicles that were racing on Thursday night in Amarillo.
According to the police, the accident happened around 11:00 p.m., in the area of Hillside Drive and Bell Street
The drivers of a Camaro and a Charger were racing east on Hillside approaching Bell when the Charger lost control at the intersection and crashed into four cars stopped for the red light.
Five people were injured in the accident and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Charger, David Ortiz, was arrested and charged with racing causing serious bodily injury and intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury.
The driver of the Camaro, Michael Clark, was also charged with racing causing serious bodily injury and DWI.
